First 100 Days: A Case Study

Challenge

Our client, a software company serving the public sector, was facing an uphill climb. They were kicking off a transformation effort just after a private equity acquisition and the installation of a new, first-time CEO.

Approach

To support the company during this critical period of transition, HRG installed an interim Chief of Staff to serve as the eyes, ears, and extra hands for the CEO and the senior leadership team. Backed by the experience and perspectives of the entire HRG team, the Chief of Staff was able to help steer the creation of a new go-to-market strategy, prepare senior leaders for key customer meetings, and shift between looking ahead for strategic priorities and putting out immediate emergency fires to keep the CEO's attention focused on the most important topic at hand.

Impact

Our client was able to successfully navigate the critical first 100 days transition period without disruption to current operations. Additionally, our client set out an ambitious strategy for the years ahead and has since expanded their client roster, grown through acquisition, and continued to build a stellar senior leadership team under the newly installed CEO. Our client referred to HRG as “one of the best consulting experiences we’ve ever had.”
